Mr Traill, 51 , is understood to have been the civilian pilot at the controls of the chopper when it plunged into the Clutha Vaults, Glasgow, Scotland, UK

He was a former RAF man.

According to published in Dailyrecord, his second cousin Toni Lawson said that the pilot who died was David Traill. He was his relative and a Falkirk bairn.

According to Toni words, David served in the RAF in Iraq and Afghanistan.

David was an experienced flyer who served in the RAF as a Chinook pilot for 20 years, working on operations around the world including both Gulf Wars.

He was a qualified helicopter instructor and was the Chinook display captain in 2007.

He lived in Lochwinnoch, ­Renfrewshire, with partner Lucy.

Family members have confirmed to media that David Traill was among the 8 people killed when a helicopter crashed Clutcha Vaults bar in Glasgow on Friday night.
