Morteza Pashaei (Persian: مرتضی پاشایی‎ 13 August 1984 - 14 November 2014) was an Iranian musician, composer and pop singer.

Born and raised in Tehran, he studied graphic design and had been interested in music since his childhood. He began playing the guitar at the age of fourteen. He was diagnosing with cancer since 2013 and was hospitalized at Tehran'sBahman Hospital on 3 November 2014 due to conditions of his cancer. He died on 14 November at the age of 30.

Early life

Morteza Pashaei was born on 13 August 1984 in Aryashahr, Tehran. He was interested in music since he was a child and began playing the guitar at the age of fourteen. He studied graphic design in Islamic Azad University and was graduated in 2008.

Music career

Pashaei started his professional music career in 2009 with publishing his songs in internet, notably Youtube. He was followed Shadmehr Aghili and Mohsen Yeganeh's styles. He was known by his Yeki Hast track. He published Yeki Hatalbum in autumn 2012. Many music experts named Pashaei as the new star of Iran's pop.

Cancer

In late September 2013, it was announced that Pashaei are diagnosing with stomach cancer. His relatives denied the news but his official website announced that his planned concerts are cancelled due to Morteza's illness. He appeared with a hat in a TV show one month later and talked about his illness. He had major surgery before announcing the news.

On 3 November 2014, Pashaei was transferred to Bahman Hospital and was hospitalized in ICU.

Death

On 14 November 2014, Pashaei died of cardiac arrest at 10:05 AM. His funeral will be held on 16 November and he will be buried at Behesht-e Zahra.
