Important chess composer of chess problems and endgame studies

Very successful chess player

Died Friday Nov. 23, 2012.

Loving son of Priscilla (Ellwood) and the late Jerome (Jerry) Meinking. He is survived by brothers Steve (Sandy), John (Kathy), Paul, Jim (Linda) and Randy (Patty). He also leaves many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Dan was well known in the world of chess and won multiple Cincinnati and Dayton Chess championships in the early 1980's. He was awarded the title of "FIDE Master of Chess Composition" in 2009 by the International Chess Composition Union.
