Shane Gibson (February 21, 1979 – April 15, 2014) was an American musician best known for being the touring guitarist for the American metal group Korn, after the departure of Brian "Head" Welch in February 2005. He also played the lead guitar for the solo tour of Jonathan Davis from Korn. Shane spent most of his teenage years in Florida and graduated in 2002 from the Berklee College of Music where he attended on a scholarship basis. Moving then to Los Angeles, California, where he first worked as a roadie for Kiss and later on TV spots and music for movies, he was introduced to Jonathan Davis by Richard Gibbs, and then hired to play some dates with Korn.

Following the absence of Munky (aka James Shaffer) in January 2008, Gibson became the lead guitar player for Korn.

Jonathan Davis states that Shane "reminds him of Head" in that "he's kind of introverted and whenever he's in the room things just seem to fall around him."

However, with Munky's return to Korn on February 23, 2008, Gibson was back to playing the rhythm guitar parts only.

His main band, stOrk, with Thomas Lang, singer VK Lynne and bassist Kelly Lemieux, is an experimental rock band that combines many different elements, including thrash metal and progressive rock. Their self-titled album "stOrk" was released in January 2011. The band's sophomore release "Broken Pieces" is slated for release in April 2014.

Shane was known around the shred community for his solo work, which featured frequent use of odd times signatures, heavy riffing, poly-rhythms, innovative tapping sequences and his impressive sweep picking technique.

Shane was also a founding member of the heavy metal / comedy act named SchwarZenatoR along with JP Von Hitchburg and Jonathan Weed. Their self-titled debut album was released February 23, 2010. SchwarZenatoR is based out of Los Angeles, CA.

Shane played guitars on Godhead singer Jason C. Miller's solo album Last to Go Home.

In 2010 he recorded the single "Free" with band Echoes the Fall.

Gibson died at 5:45 AM CST on April 15, 2014, in the UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, of complications from a blood clotting disorder.
