Biography

Anton Buslov was born and raised in Voronezh. At February 2003 he passed exams to the MEPhI Graduate School of physics. In February 2006 received Specialist Degree on the Department of Experimental Nuclear Physics and Theoretical Physics and Cosmophysics. In May 2006 passed exam to the Post-graduate school at the Department of Experimental and Theoretic Physics, and started working on thesis "Control System and Data Computing in solar research project “Koronas-Foton".

At 2009 graduated from Post-graduate school. He didn't complete the thesis because of worsening health condition. He died on 20 August 2014 in New York City.

Scientific work

Buslov was one of the developers of the solar research project "Koronas-Foton", head of Center of Data Computing, Storing of Information and Information Accumulation of the project. As co-author has a number of publications about space related stuff.

Public activities

Buslov founded NGO "Voronezh Citizens – for trams", which was engaged in saving electric transport in Voronezh city from destruction. The NGO became later the basis for inter-regional public organization "The city and transport". In 2004 created the web-portal Samaratrans.info, dedicated to public transport in Samara. Participated in the development of the official website of the transport operator Samara. Since 2011 has been consultanting the mayor of Samara as transportation expert whose area of expertise is an infrastructure planning of the city and especially its transport infrastructure. Has reached out the repeal of a law which was restricted to took a photography in the subways of Samara,Kazan, Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Novgorod. Since 2012, actively participates in the "City 4 people" as expert in the field of transport and urban planning. At the exhibition "City 4 People" delivered a course of lectures on transport. In 2013 took part in the project of reconstruction of Lenin Avenue and the construction of the north-west of the chord withVukan R. Vuchic, professor at the University of Pennsylvania. One of the authors of tender documents for the updated map of Moscow metro. Consulted in transoprt field for the state, municipal, public and commercial projects.

Journalistic career

Editor of web information portal "Sitibum" (Yopolis). Regular columnist in the magazine The New Times, in which he described his story of struggle with cancer. Since 2004, was writing a blog in LJ under the name mymaster, which raises social issues, describes solutions to transportation and policy issues, talks about his travels to different cities of the world and share observations about their structure and transport system. One of particular interest is the trams, the history of their creation and advanced technology to develop new models. Also, the blog has wide coverage of cancer treatment and issues faced by people with cancer. Specialized articles from the blog periodically has been publishing in press.

Cancer

In January 2011, Anton Buslov was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was treated at Cancer Research Center (Moscow) and at the Samara Regional Clinical Oncology Center. After exhausting the possibilities of treatment in Russia, he found an opportunity to continue treatment at the NewYork–Presbyterian Hospital, and started fundraising on the Internet among the readers of his blog. Donations were made by over 30.000 people and the required funds has been collected in a week, which was the fastest fundraising for the individual in runet. Due to complications during the treatment, had to request again to his 30.000 friends" to collect an additional funds for medical treatment, which was also had been collected. Buslov was treated at the NewYork–Presbyterian Hospital. He gave moral and informational support to cancer patients.

Family

Buslov's father was an engineer, and his mother a housewife. He had two siblings: a brother, Dmitri, and a sister, Anastasia. He was married for the first time in 2005, but divorced in 2009. Second time married in 2012: "I proposed my girlfriend not after I was diagnosed cancer, but right after doctors told me that I have left only a year or half a year".
