Alberto Mari (born 14 June 1892, died 26 August 1953)

He was an Italian problem chess composer. 

Chess composition 
Since 1916 he published more than 460 chess compositions, mainly double moves. In 1921 his two-wheeler won first prize in the Good Companion competition. Mari was one of the propagandists of the strategic school and editor of the chess composition section of the Italian magazines L'Alfiere di Re and L'Italia Scacchistica . In 1928 he published two articles in the Belgian magazine l'Echiquier Belge on various mechanisms that modify the stroke. One of the themes of chess composition is named after him.
