Erika Tauriņš, as it turns out, was the designer of the original Playboy Bunny costume.

It is known that the Tauriņš family emigrated to the United States to escape the Soviet occupation of Latvia.

Already in America, their daughter Ilse met one of the co-founders of Playboy, Victor Lownes III. When it came to the question of the need to create an original costume, Ilze advised her to turn to her mother, who, being a professional seamstress, designed and sewed the “Plaboy Bunny” costume.
