Mireille Darc ( born 15 May 1938, dead 28 August 2017) was a French model and actress.

She was Alain Delon's longtime co-star and companion. She appeared as a lead character in Jean-Luc Godard's 1967 film Week End. Darc is a Chevalier of the Légion d'honneurand Commandeur of the Ordre national du Mérite.

Early life and career

Born Mireille Aigroz in Toulon, France, she attended the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts (Conservatoire d'art dramatique de Toulon) in Toulon, and went to Paris in 1959. Her debut came in 1960 in Claude Barma's La Grande Brétèche. Her first leading role came in 1961 with Jean Prat's "Hauteclaire." In the 1980s her career was interrupted by open-heart surgery following a car accident, in which she was seriously injured, and her separation from Alain Delon after fifteen years together. She quit her film career, but returned to television in the 1990s.

In 2006, Jacques Chirac awarded Darc the Légion d'honneur.
