After occupation of Latvia in 1940, part of "neutral" former Latvian Army officeers were included in the staff of Red Army. On 14 of June 1941, under cover of the military manouvres about 400 Latvians were surrounded, disarmed and those who captured, sent to Norilsk. Major part of deported were killed in exile (80 or ~20% survived)
