BLOOM RAFAIL DAVIDOVITCH, 10.11.1914, Berlin; lived in Daugavpils, where his father was a director of the Jewish school; partic. in the underground antifascist movement in Riga; student at the Mechanical Faculty of the Latvian University; during the war - one of the organizers of the partisan movement in Latvia; from 1943 - deputy commander of the 2nd Latvian partisan brigade; wounded; war invalid; awarded. After the war - "Padomju Jaunatne" newspaper editor in Riga, then left for Moscow. Died 22.05.1998. [pic]
