Tim Couzens (1944–2016) was a South African literary and social historian, and travel writer. He won a number of awards for his works, and was employed in the Graduate School for Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.

Couzens authored 16 distinct works and was also involved in the publication of Nelson Mandela's "Conversations With Myself".

On 28 October 2016, it was reported that Couzens died and that the cause was not immediately known.
