Gia Nadareishvili (Georgian გია ნადარეიშვილი; 22 September 1921 - 3 October 1991) was a Soviet chess composer of Georgian nationality (born in Tbilisi) and author of many books on chess studies.

Together with John Roycroft and others, he was a co-founder of the Permanent Commission for Chess Composition (PCCC), a FIDE body responsible for chess composition. Until his death he was the delegate of the USSR at the annual meetings of the PCCC. In 1980 he was awarded the title of Grand Master of Chess Composition by FIDE.

Successes

Nadareishvili composed about 500 chess studies and won 21 first prizes, 25 second prizes and 20 third prizes in international tournaments.

 He published many books on endgame studies of chess, including a collection of 312 studies annotated by 43 famous grandmasters.

Nadareishvili was a neurologist by profession, head of the neurological department of the Tbilisi Central Hospital. He was awarded the title of honorary doctor by the Georgian state.
