Life
John Arthur James Drewitt was born in Patching, Sussex, England. He was London champion in 1927, 1928 and 1929-30. He was a philosophy professor.
Many games of him can be found, he lived in Hastings and gave chess lessons to Miss Menchik.
John Drewitt had bad eyesight.
Death:
He died en route to Hastings in 1931 after falling from a train.
